Housewarming

It was a sunny, comfortingly warm morning in California. Drake sat on a white, cotton rope hammock overlooking the large piece of land before him. This was by far the most relaxing scenery he had ever come across. The wide, open patch of land surrounded by the masses of trees. Light wind rustling the leaves, birds chirping, it was all definitely breathtaking. It was his first official day in the new home. Quite an impulsive move, a lot of people had said. But to Drake it was fitting for the place he was at in his life. He had been thinking it over for some time now and finally had the time to make it happen. He sold his condo in Miami and within days his realtor had found an amazing place in California.

So much stuff had been going on lately, good and bad, but it was making it hard for him to clear his mind and focus on what he needed to do. Now sitting here, inhaling the fresh air, no loud traffic near…he felt tranquil.

It could get lonely though. He knew that. It was just him in this big house all alone. Drake was that kind of guy that knew what he wanted. He wanted that family life, having people around that he loved with him constantly. Yeah his friends would spend a lot of time around him, most of the time he wasn’t physically alone. But in every other way it matter, he was lonely. If he pictured himself living in that huge space he now owned a few years down the road, he didn’t picture it empty. He pictured it with the woman he loved, maybe a few kids running around. That’s just what he wanted. Getting there was the problem. How could he move forward with his life when the person he wants to do it with is stuck many steps behind?

Drake was nudged out of his thoughts when he felt his iphone vibrating in his pocket. He reached for it, smiling at the picture that popped up on the screen.

“Hello?” Drake picked up.

“Hey! I’m here…I think. This place is kind of confusing.” Nicki’s voice blared through the speaker.

“Alright, I’ll let you in give me a sec. You’ll see the gates open then just follow the trail and you’ll see me up front.” Drake directed her as he made his way back to the main part of his estate.

“Ok. See ya in a bit.”

He hung up and started walking through the house, out the front door and waited to see her. A few days ago he had spoken to Nicki after she got word of his move. She was excited to say the least, she had tried many times to get him to move out to California but he put it off. Now that he was there, Drake wasted no time inviting her over. He suggested she make her way to his new place so he could give her a tour and they could catch up. Truthfully, he just wanted her company. It had been so long since he could really spend some time alone with her, with nobody else getting in the way.

A few seconds later he heard the sound of an engine and caught a glimpse of the bright, pink Bentley. She pulled up right at the key of the oval driveway and cut the engine. The door opened and beauty stepped out. For a second it felt like Drake was in some sort of slow motion scene. Watching Nicki get out of the car made him nervous. Why? He didn’t know. He was excited, no doubt, but he couldn’t help but wonder what this day would bring.

“Hi Drizzy.” She looked gorgeous. Dressed down, a pair of light washed jeans, a black v-neck, and some colorful Nikes. Her hair was simple too as she kept it natural, down her back. His favorite part was that her make up was not there. Her face was bare, except for her lashes.  She walked quickly over to Drake and he welcomed her in his arms. She pressed herself against his chest, feeling the warmth that was radiating from his body. He wrapped his arms around her and kissed the side of her head. He pulled back slowly and smiled.

“How are you beautiful?”

“Great, I can’t believe this is your new place. Its huge!” Nicki looked at her surroundings, admiring the structure of the building, the landscaping. Everything she had seen so far impressed her.

“Yeah, well its home now. Want the tour?”

“Of course!” Drake hooked his arm around hers and led the way inside. There were so many things he wanted to show her, so many things he knew she was going to love. But he chose to save those for the end.

“Alright lets go this way first.” Drake walked ahead of Nicki and stepped into the spacious kitchen. The mahogany on maple cabinets combined with the brand new stainless steel gave the room a luxurious feel. Very welcoming. The copper engineered stone countertops impressed even her, making Nicki immediately fall in love.

“Woah, this looks all new. What are you even gonna do in this kitchen Drake?” Nicki laughed looking around.

“I can cook!”

“Riight..”

“Well then maybe I just need you here more often so you can cook me stuff.” Drake raised his eyebrows.

“Well maybe now that you moved 30 minutes away from me that could be possible.“ Nicki smiled and opened up the double door, silver refrigeration. She took a look and rolled her eyes.

“How did I know you would already have this filled up?!”

“Hey I’m a growing boy I need the protein!” Drake grabbed her hand and pulled her away. “Moving on, we have lots more to see.”

For the next hour Drake showed her around the house. Every room she went into she loved. Despite being so big, the house surprisingly made her feel safe and warm. She could tell why Drake had picked this place, as it fit his style perfectly the way it was very chill and relaxed. He kept surprising her by revealing yet another room, every time she thought they were done another door appeared. She couldn’t understand how he could feel so comfortable is such a big space all alone but she wouldn’t go there with him.

He took her to the second floor of the house, all the way down a long hallway to meet a pair of white doors. “Now this, this is what its all about.” Drake prepared her before opening up the doors that led to his bedroom. As soon as she stepped in her mouth dropped. She was in awe. The big windows to the right let the bright California sun make the room sparkle. Her eyes immediately went to the immense bed before her. The whole room looked fit for a king. She was not really in control of her body at that moment because suddenly she found herself throwing her body on the bed.

“Ohhh my Goddddd!!” Nicki laid back and closed her eyes. “Yooooo THIS is what im talking about.

"You like it?" Drake chuckled at her child-like behavior.

"Like it? Love is more the word. I could stay here all day." 

Drake pulled himself on the bed beside her and wrapped his arm around her back, making her face him. "Well you should. My house is your house. And my bed is definitely your bed."

She rolled her eyes playfully and cuddled up to him. "Shut up!"

"I'm serious. You see this big bed, this big house...you're just gonna leave me here all alone? That's not cool Nic."

"Who told you to go out and buy this palace when you don't know what you want to do with it?"

"Oh but i know what i want to do with it." He pulled back slightly so he could look her in the eyes. "And i know who i want to do it with. She just has to let me."

Nicki's mouth went dry for a second. She looked at him and suddenly felt her body go stiff. She hoped everything would go smooth that day, no awkwardness but he wasn't having that. She lifted herself to sit up and jumped off the bed.

"So...you gonna show me the outside?"

"Yeah." Drake sighed. 

Within a few minutes, the pair were outside exploring the lot. He took her around the pool location and she was stunned. 

"You have a fucking cave here? That's sexy." Nicki bent down to touch the water real quick. "And its warm?  You think you fancy huh?"

Drake shrugged. "Want to get in?"

She raised her eyebrows "Uh no! Do i look like im dressed for swimming?"

"We could always go skinny dipping...I mean theres nobody for miles.." Drake tried his luck, rubbing the back of his neck to see if she would go for it.

"Ok so you're out of your mind..." Nicki laughed "Maybe i should go before you throw me in there."

"No! Come on you just got here, stay awhile." Drake sat down on the patio couch and stared up at Nicki. He didn't think she would really leave but he wanted to make sure.

"Alright." She sat down on the opposite side of the couch. "So what's going on Drake?"

"You know...same old. Working, traveling." He leaned back, putting his feet up on the stool in front of him.

"How long are you staying in town?" Nicki asked.

"I actually leave in a few days, going to Utah."

"Utah? What are you going there for?"

"Sundance Film Festival. Gonna perform there, you know hang out for a bit."

"So even now that you move here you still all over the place huh?" Nicki smiled to hide the disappointment. She was conflicted. There was something in her that wanted to attach herself to him even more now but still had that fear. She couldn't, no matter how much her heart felt it needed to be with Drake, bring herlsef to just give in so easy. She tried, she fell into his charm many times but always managed to pull back. It's not that she thought he was a bad guy. He was one of the best people she had met in her entire life. He truly cared about her and she knew it. But after everything she had been through before, and the way her career and fans mixed into her focus she didn't know what was right. But lately it was getting harder and harder to deny those feelings in her heart. Especially when he was around her. She didn't know what it was but it wouldn't let her think straight.

"You know better than anyone how its like, gotta go where work takes me. But i think i would stay more often if i had something or someone to stay for.."

"Drake.." She sighed.

"You gotta know. The reason why i moved here was for you. So you can stop avoiding the situation, so you can stop avoiding me Nicki." He turned his body to face her, grabbing her hand.

"I'm not avoid-"

"Yes you are. That's all you do. And i don't understand it. One day you're all for us and its good and i feel like this might be it. But then something changes in you overnight like you have a little devil on your shoulder talking you out of it, and you listen! What's going on?"

"It's complicated Drake." Nicki looked down at her hands, one of which was still in Drake's hand.

"I know. I know everything you're gonna say. You're scared of the publicity, you're scared what people are gonna say, you're scared to let me in. But when have i ever done something to make you scared to be with me? You need to trust that I dont want to hurt you, all i want is for you to be happy. And i truly believe you can be happy with me. Don't you?" He stared at her. He was practically pouring his heart out to her. He wasn't spilling everything he needed to but he didn't want to overwhelm her. 

"Sometimes...I'm with you and i feel great. I love how...how free i get with you. And how I don't have to put up any front with you." She took a deep breath to control the rush of emotion and embarrassment that was coming. She closed her eyes to stop the tears from fully forming. "Im scared."

Drake scooted closer to her and pulled Nicki into his chest. "I know you are. But i promise you if you let me, im not gonna let anything bad happen."

She shook her head. "You can't promise that."

"Yes i can. You know why? Because no matter what happens, there's nothing that we can't get through together Nic. Nothing." Nicki wiped her eyes and smiled.

"You are so corny Drake, i can't stand  you."

"I'm serious. Do you care about me enough to give us this chance."

"I do." She really did. Maybe it wouldn't work out. Maybe it would. Nicki didn't know what would happen in the future. All she knew was that nobody had ever gone to such great lengths to prove their love for her. Or spent so much time, rejection after rejection going back and trying again. She really did love him. Now that she was finally doing everything she wanted to do career wise, not letting anyone dictate what she was going to do, why shouldn't she do that in this sense?

"Will you at least do me a favor?" Drake asked.

"What is that?"

"Don't let me spend my first night here alone."

Nicki pursed her lips and thought about it. There was no reason not to, she really wanted to spend as much time as she could with him. "Fineee." She sighed dramatically. "If you need me THAT much.."

"Oh i need you." He chuckled.

Nicki rolled her eyes for about the 8th time that day. "I'm gonna ignore that, Let's go back inside. That home theater looked welcoming."

The couple went back in the house and decided on a few movies to watch. They snuggled up together and twenty minutes into their third movie she was falling asleep. He grabbed the remote and turned the big screen off. He picked Nicki up in his arms, which shook her awake.

“What are you doing? The movie?”

“You're about to fall asleep, these seats are that comfortable.”

“No, no im good. It's still way to early for me to go to sleep.” She forced him to put her down and walked towards the kitchen. He followed as she got up on the stool by the island. “Let's do something else.”

“Well...” He rested against the countertop. “You hungry?”

“Yeah I could eat.”

“Alright, what do you want? We can order out or-”

“No let me cook!” Nicki hopped down from the stool with an excited smile. “Come on, you've never tasted my famous spaghetti yet.”

“Alright, I gotta try this! But you gotta let me help with something.”

“Hmm, okay. You can do the salad and find us something to drink in that big wine cellar you got downstairs.”

“No problem.” Drake showed her where all the things she would need to prepare the meal were and she began her task. He thought she was so cute all focused in her cooking, and he'd be lying if he said he never pictured the two of them cooking dinner together like a married couple.

When her food was almost done and his salad was perfection, he made his way downstairs to pick out a good wine selection. He took the special bottle of Dehlinger Pinot Noir he had been saved it and ran back upstairs just as Nicki was serving the plates.

“Smells good in here.”

“Thanks!”

Drake grabbed two glasses from the cupboard and poured the wine.

“Woah that's a little too much dont you think? You know I don't drink much.” Nicki said setting the plates at the table.

“You gotta have the full effect here. What's pasta without wine huh?”

“Alright, but why do I have the feeling you're trying to get me drunk?” Nicki teased him and they began to eat.

Drake had to admit it was actually very good. She hadn't been kidding when she bragged about her food. “Yo this is really good Nic.”

“Well thank you. You sound surprised tho.” She side eyed him.

“No I trusted you, I knew it was gonna be good.”

“Sure..”

They spent the rest of the meal talking and joking, reminiscing of old times. She felt really comfortable in his home having fun and even finished her whole glass. After they were done, she pushed her plate forward and fanned herself.

“Is it me or is it hot in here?”

Drake sipped his wine and sighed, “Oh its definitely you.”

“That pool is actually sounding good right about now.”

“Let's go in then.”

“Well I dont have a bathing suit. Although I could just go in my bra and panties.” Nicki stroked her chin playfully.

“Wait..” Drake sat up straight, surprised. “You're not kidding?”

Nicki shrugged. “If you go in your boxers.”

“Alright then!”

They stood up and went back outside. It was now a little darker outside and the backyard was lit up beautifully. The different colored lights in the pool leading up to the cave entrance made it so exciting. She didn't know if it was the sudden burst of carefree attitude that entered her, or the alcohol she had consumed but she was feeling adventurous. Like she just wanted to let go and have some fun. She took off her shoes and socks.

“What are you waiting for?” She asked Drake, who was just standing there watching her.

“Nothing..just watching.”

“Well hurry.” She pulled her pants down & took off her shirt. He couldn't stop staring at her. Her body was perfectly toned, her curves were every guy's dream. The best part was the huge smile she had plastered on her face, making her deep dimples show off.

“I just...I can't really believe you're doing this.” Drake laughed.

“YOLO right?” She shrugged before jumping into the pool with a scream.

“Thats the motto...or so I hear.” He said to himself, quickly stripping.

“Ohhhh my god this feels so good Drake...Pauz.” Nicki said when she resurfaced. “Come in!”

He didn't need to be told twice as he jumped in after her. Before he could come back up he swam by her and tugged on her legs. When they both got back up her eyes were wide and she punched his arm lightly.

“Don't do that! I could drown!”

He pulled her hips to him. “I would never let you drown.”

“Well lifeguard can we go in the cave?”

“Go ahead.”

She went back under the water and swam towards the entrance, She popped her head out when she knew she was in, Drake trailing behind her. The cool environment with the low, orange lights made it for a romantic scene.

“Wow this is beautiful.” She sat at the wetbar, looking around while Drake joined her.

“I'm glad that you like it here Nic.”

“Hmm..its almost perfect.”

“Almost?” He raised his brow.

“Yeah, you need a little redecorating.”

“What's wrong with my decorating?”

“You really wanna go there?”

Drake feigned hurt and put his hand to his heart. “Now that hurts.”

“I'm sorry but its the truth.” She laughed.

“So who's gonna help me with this problem I supposedly have, I mean...can't be you.”

“And why not?”

“Well its not like you have the best eye either...” He said casually. He didn't mean what he said, he just wanted to toy with her.

She gasped and punched him. “I do too!”

“Nope.” He started swimming away and she chased him.

“Should I keep on swimming away in fear?” He asked with a laugh as they both swam out of the cave.

“I think you should!”

She quickly gripped the back of his boxers, with her other hand she grabbed his side. She pulled hard, propelling herself onto his back. Nicki wrapped herself around him, trying to playfully strangle Drake. He managed to turn her so they were face to face and held a tight grip on her waist.

“You're abusive.” He said to her.

“Am I?”

“Yeah. It was very sexy.” He smiled.

"Was it?" She asked as she leaned towards him.

"It was." He agreed.

"Yeah?" She said soft as she licked her lips.

"Yeah." Drake muttered as he leaned in.

Their lips crashed together softly. He heard her moan softly as he kissed her soft lips. She finally parted them, allowing his tongue entrance. He felt her hands go up his body, traveling from his chest to his face, finally to the back of his head. Drake grabbed the back of her thighs and pulled her closer, wrapping her legs around his waist. Heat was surging through their bodies and she was completely lost in the moment.

A smile grew on his face as she pulled back, staring at him.

“I love you.” He said resting his head on her forehead.

“I love you too.”

“You know, I think we can have some fun in here.” He suggested, wiggling his eyebrows.

“Yeah...” She smiled devilishly.

“Gotta catch me first.” She quickly untangled herself from him and swam away laughing.






















So i know i haven't updated ISIYE in awhile, but this idea just came to mind after seeing the new house Drake bought. Can i just say my bags are packed and im ready to move in o_o
